Brave and Strong and True
Like all good stories, this one is true. It is about Ellie, a small brown dog, who can no longer live at home.
Things seem very scary and uncertain for Ellie when she is taken away, but she soon discovers that there are lots of kind and loving people who want to help.
Brave and Strong and True is a book that anyone can enjoy reading with or to their children. The story can also be used in an educational or therapeutic setting.
My resources page will give you more ideas about this.
Book readings
Please contact me directly if you are interested in a book reading at your school or daycare centre. I am also happy to speak at professional conferences or workshops about how to use Brave and Strong and True in your practice with children.
We rescued Ellie in 2016, and her courage, determination and cheekiness inspired me every day that we had her.
Her story was incredibly special to me, and I knew it could be special for others too. My hope is that it finds a place in your heart.
How to buy the book
Brave and Strong and True is $22.00 (including postage and packaging within Australia). For overseas customers, it is likely to be more cost effective to purchase via an online bookstore such as Book Depository, as they offer free delivery worldwide.
Questions from Kids
-
A: Lots of people ask this question. They went to live with kind people who loved and cared for them.
-
A: What a great question. I think they were worried, but they also knew that Ellie and her puppies weren’t being looked after properly, and that the RSPCA were the right people to help them to be safe.
-
A: That’s a hard question. I think that they didn’t know how to look after her because no-one had shown them how.
